Our commitment

Accessibility

Sepsis Alliance is committed to making this website usable by everyone, including people who rely on assistive technology. This site is designed and tested to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA standard.

What we do

  • Every page uses semantic structure — real headings, landmarks, lists, and labels — so screen readers can navigate it.
  • Text and interface colors meet WCAG AA contrast ratios, including text placed over photographs.
  • Every interactive control is keyboard-operable, with a visible focus indicator and a skip-to-content link on every page.
  • Tap targets meet the 44-pixel minimum on touch devices.
  • Images carry meaningful alternative text; decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
  • Pages respect your system's reduced-motion preference.
  • We audit the site with automated tooling (axe) and manual keyboard and screen-reader checks as content changes.

Documents

We work to make downloadable documents (such as PDFs) accessible. Some older or third-party documents may not fully meet the standard yet — if you need one in an accessible format, contact us and we will provide the content in a form that works for you.

Report a barrier

If any part of this site is difficult for you to use, we want to know. Email info@sepsis.org or call (619) 232-0300 and describe the page and the problem. We aim to respond within two business days and to fix verified barriers promptly.
